Random List Picker

Paste a list (one item per line), then pick one at random or shuffle everything.

Winner: —

How it works

Empty lines are ignored. Picks use crypto.getRandomValues when available for unbiased selection; otherwise Math.random is used. Shuffle uses Fisher–Yates.

Examples

  1. Team lunch: paste names → Pick random → one person chooses the restaurant
  2. Study list: shuffle flashcards so review order is not fixed
  3. Giveaway: one entry per line → Pick random for a fair winner
  4. Dinner rota: paste household names → pick who cooks tonight

Pair with a checklist

After shuffling chores or packing items, turn the list into printable checkboxes with theChecklist Generator. Count names or entries with the Word Counterif you paste multi-word lines.

FAQ

Is the pick truly random?

We use the Web Crypto API when available for cryptographically strong randomness suitable for casual fair picks.

Can I shuffle without picking a winner?

Yes. Use Shuffle list to reorder items in place and show a numbered preview.

Are duplicates allowed?

Yes. Duplicate lines are treated as separate entries, so they have higher chance of being picked.

Is my list uploaded to a server?

No. Picking and shuffling run entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored on our servers.
