Calculate age on a future date
Set the as-of date to a future day (trip, school cutoff, contract start) and run the same birthday arithmetic you use for “age today.”
Steps
- Choose birth date and future as-of date.
- Compute completed years (birthday reached or not in the as-of year).
- Optionally add remaining months/days for full chronological age.

Worked examples
- Born 2018-09-01, school cutoff 2026-09-01: exactly 8 completed years that day.
- Born 2018-09-02, cutoff 2026-09-01: still 7 completed years.
- Born 1986-06-15, as of 2026-12-31: 40 years plus months/days after June 15 —turning 40 notes.
