How it works

Values are converted through a base unit (metres, kilograms, litres) except temperature, which uses standard °C ↔ °F ↔ K formulas (°F = °C × 9/5 + 32). Prefer exact factors such as 1 inch = 2.54 cm.

Examples

  1. 1 inch = 2.54 cm · 15.6 in ≈ 39.624 cm
  2. 1 kg ≈ 2.20462 lb · 23 kg ≈ 50.7 lb
  3. 0 °C = 32 °F = 273.15 K · 25 °C = 77 °F
  4. 1 US gallon ≈ 3.78541 litres
  5. 180 cm ÷ 2.54 ≈ 70.87 inches

FAQ

Are volume units US or imperial gallons?

This tool uses US liquid gallons and fluid ounces for volume (not UK imperial gallons).

How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?

Multiply by 9/5 and add 32. Example: 25 °C × 1.8 + 32 = 77 °F. See the °C ↔ °F guide.

Is the conversion exact?

Length, weight, and volume use standard SI factors. Results are rounded for display but computed at high precision.

How do I convert kg to pounds?

Multiply kilograms by about 2.20462. Example: 23 kg × 2.20462 ≈ 50.7 lb. Use the Weight tab for instant results.
