Guides/ALL CAPS → Title Case
All caps to title case cleanly
Pasted press releases and old PDF titles often arrive as ALL CAPS. Title Case restores scannability for headlines; sentence case is often better for UI labels and plain paragraphs.
A practical Title Case pattern
- Capitalize the first and last words.
- Capitalize major words (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs).
- Often leave short closed-class words lowercase mid-title (a, an, the, and, but, or, for, to, of…) — style guides differ.

Code-style cases are different
Developers need camelCase, snake_case, and kebab-case — not headline Title Case.camel vs Pascal vs snake·snake vs kebab.
Common mistakes
- Blind “capitalize every word,” including mid-title of/the when your house style says otherwise.
- Lowercasing intentional acronyms (NASA, HTML).
- Using Title Case for long paragraph text — hard to read.
